No matter how many cruises I take, the final day is always a struggle. On one hand, I want to do it all, filling in all the experiential gaps. On the other hand, I want to do as little as possible and just absorb every moment in the hope it will slow down time. On this sailing, I did the latter, but still managed to pack in a few new things. In this final day’s post, I’ll share a couple things we did, but also, summarize our first Princess Cruises experience. read more
Today was the first full sea day that I had to enjoy the ship without working, and after a very long night’s rest, I was ready to go. The weather, however, was less cooperative, but it didn’t slow us down one bit. read more
We really enjoy St Maarten for its convenience, cuisine, and beaches, so I decided to work only a half day and enjoy some time in port. As frequent cruisers, it’s hard not to compare one line to another when onboard a ship. This is especially true when on a cruise line that we’ve never sailed. This means we’ll be doing a lot of comparing this week as we set sail on Princess Cruises’ Sky Princess for seven nights in the Eastern Caribbean. read more
Drink packages can be a great way to lower your beverage costs or at least make them more predictable on your cruise. For us, the decision to purchase them has been easy, because between coffee and whisky, it has just made sense for us. On a recent Odyssey of the Seas cruise, however, we decided to pay for drinks a la carte and see how it worked out. So how did we fair? read more
In recent years, Royal Caribbean has dedicated a lot of time, hard work, and money into creating their own evening shows. Each of these aims to wow the audience with some over-the-top demonstration of technology and stagecraft, and their latest creation, The Effectors, is no exception. There were a few moments in this show that were unlike anything we'd seen on land or sea. How did it work as a show though? Well, if you're going strictly for the story, I'd skip it, but don't cancel your evening cruise plans just yet. read more
