This weekend (Feb 8 2020) we're doing something a little unusual and setting sail for just two nights.  We'll be departing from PortMiami on Celebrity Infinity and heading to Nassau and back.  It's a short cruise for sure, but we're looking forward to a weekend getaway, and exploring a Millennium Class Celebrity ship.  In the past we have sailed Celebrity Constellation (also Millennium Class), but it's been a while, and with several Celebrity Edge sailings in the past year or so, and a seven night on Celebrity Equinox, it's funny how quickly our memory has become fuzzy...

Cruise Line International Association (CLIA), is a nearly 50 year old organization, which is the world's largest cruise trade industry associated.  All major cruise lines are members, along with countless other businesses and professionals.  They've just released a new statement about the industry's efforts in dealing with the coronavirus outbreak.  You can read their statement below, and our thoughts at the bottom of the post...

Sometimes we cruise for the destinations, like the beautiful sights in Alaska or the clear waters of the Caribbean - other times we cruise for the onboard experiences available on mega-ships, or the unparalleled service offered on luxury lines.  No matter why you're taking a particular cruise though, there may be ports of call that are less interesting to you than others, and if that happens, you have options.  We'll address some common questions below, but make sure to check out some examples of cruise activity schedules at the bottom of this post.

Virgin Voyages is a new cruise line from Richard Branson's Virgin Group, and of all the things they've received attention for, perhaps none have got the internet's attention as much as the fact that they're restricted to adults only - no one under 18 may sail.  Disney Cruise Line has been around since 1998, and much as you'd expect with the Disney brand, they get much acclaim for their family experience, and how they cater to children.  These two lines may seem quite different at first glance - and they are, but there is one thing in particular they have in common, and it may very well help to make Virgin Voyages quite successful.

Packing is an important step when preparing for your cruise, but of course all your stuff needs to actually make it onto the ship.  There are several options for this, as similar to when you fly, bags can be carrier on or checked.  There are advantages and disadvantages to each – both at the start and end of your cruise...
