In just a few weeks, Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Star of the Seas, sails on her maiden voyage and we love checking out new ships - in fact, we have a multiple videos from the maiden voyage of Star's sister, Icon of the Seas. The reality is, however, that maiden voyages on megaships are often pricey, and cruise lines don't provide fun and relaxation exclusively on their newest ships, even if it's what we often show off.
Below are some sailings we wanted to share coming in at fantastic prices on some Royal Caribbean ships that may not be the newest, but still have a lot to offer. As always, if you're interested in these or any other cruises, please help support CruiseHabit by filling out the purple form down below to get a no-obligation quote from our friends at Touring and Cruises Travel - they really are the experts in helping you plan and save.
Freedom of the Seas | September through October fo 2025 | 5 Nights from Miami, FL
- Why we like it: Freedom and voyager class ships were major steps in megaships when they came out, and and lot of the "wow" folks get from big ships, as well as the massive variety of options, can be found on Freedom...but at a crazy low rate, and across quite a few sailings. It's kind of a sweet spot for those wanting to go big with Royal out of South Florida, but on a budget.
- How much? As low as $70 person/night
Mariner of the Seas | September 2025 | 5 Nights from Galveston, TX
- Why we like it: Mariner is a Voyages class ship, and in many ways they're hard to tell apart from their larger cousins, Freedom class - so if you're local to Texas, or it's just easier to get there than South Florida, this is a great choice! We also have a soft spot for this ship, as the first Royal Caribbean ship we sailed after the 2021 return to service (which you can read about here). Be sure not to miss The Bamboo Room tiki bar!
- How much? As low as $78 person/night
Allure of the Seas | November and December 2025 | 6 Nights from Ft Lauderdale, FL
- Why we like it: Oasis class ships aren't just big, but they really are different, and Royal hit it out of the park with this class. Aqua Theater shows alone make this worth the price of admission for us. There are a few good deals on Oasis class ships right now, but we're highlighting Allure because she was recently refurbished, so you get some of that new ship smell at a lower price - not a bad way to spend your November/December holiday season!
- How much? As low as $99 person/night
Enchantment of the Seas | September 2025 | 5 Nights from Tampa, FL
- Why we like it: If you just want to get away someplace warm, with an ocean view, and a cold drink, the prices on Enchantment can't be beat. Enchantment, we'll admit, isn't the new shiny thing, and she doesn't pretend to be, but we do appreciate you'll get more ocean views on this one-of-a-kind ship than on newer Royal vessels. Fun fact, she's also the only Royal Caribbean vessel to be cut in half! In 2005 they cut her in two in order to add rooms, public spaces, and deck space.
- How much? As low as $53 person/night
These are just some of the deals out there, and in many cases, our friends at Touring and Cruises have special incentives not available directly through Royal, plus they can help you check on other cruise lines, hotels, and even all inclusives! Now, if you'll excuse us, we need to pack for our next voyage. Any guesses as to where?
